Ceilidh

Friday 22nd April

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Family Ceilidh on Friday 22nd April.  It was an exciting evening and lovely to see staff, children and families dancing together as David “the Puppet Man” Waterson was leader and caller.  David helped the Friends organise the event in order to raise funds to support his visit to Papa Westray School in June. The school is on a remote Orkney island and has five children in total. It was a lovely opportunity to have fun together, to raise funds for school and to help other children from a small rural school...even smaller than ours!

It was a very special evening and made even more so, when Jack Banner in Year 1 won an amazing dog puppet and gave it back to Mrs Stevenson and said, "Here Mrs Stevenson,,,This is to say thank you for a lovely dance and so that all the children in school can play with the puppet and not just me and Poppy!"

A big thank you to Jack and to the Friends for organising such a lovely event that raised £63.17 for school and £50 for Papa Westray School.
